“In 2018, I decided to conduct an experiment for an art school project: find out how far I could get without money in a city that was unfamiliar to me. By chance, I ended up in Den Bosch, not realizing at the time how fortunate I was to land there. It turned out to be my saving grace. During those days, I came to know Den Bosch as the most hospitable city I have ever visited. I stayed in student houses and received food in exchange for doing cleaning chores. The absolute highlight was my visit to Café Plaats Royaal, where the owner generously treated me to beer, sandwiches with eggs, shrimp, and cheese. The door was open, the light was on, and I felt more than welcome”.
